Is processed cheese food like, what they feed cheese to make it healthy and strong so it can be fit for selling in a supermarket?I grabbed two packs at the grocery the other day, unknowingly. They were only $1. I thought, what a deal on cheese!
I didn't know it was "cheese food." I failed to read the proverbial fine print.
One website says, "Processed cheese, or American cheese, is cheese that is treated by pasteurization and the addition of preservatives and more moisture for spreadability and ease of melting. If it is called cheese FOOD, the product needs to contain only 51% real cheese."
Hmm.
I miss some good Dutch cheese.
